Walker is very long and skilled big man with good footwork. In the half court offense most of Walker's touches are in the low post area.
He is vey skilled big man and can finish equally good with left and right hand. Walker has pretty good footwork after he catches the ball in the low post; moreover he uses his strength and big body to back down defenders and finish over them. In ball screens situations he rolls hard to the basket every time trying to finish of the catch or after 1 dribble. Walker is capable shooter up to 15ft and will shoot if he is open. Next to his good low post game Walker is really good offensive rebounder, and this where he gets a lot of his points. He is constantly present on the glass, anticipating shots and is really good at scoring from second and third chances. Defensively, Walker impacts the game extremely well. Because of his length he constantly challenges shots and makes it hard for offense to shoot over him. He is decent shot blocker, since he is discipline and does not leave his feet on every shot fake.
Negatives:
Walker is a decent athlete, however he is not overly explosive and quick off the floor after he caches the ball. Moreover he can move better without the ball, being more active and fighting harder for passion - his footwork can be better when trying to establish low post position while also he has to be lower in the stance since he has tendencies to stand straight up. He has strong body and should use it even better in order to establish deep postposition. Since his leaping ability with the ball is not great, Walker has trouble finishing against taller and longer defenders, however he is really good at anticipating his shots and getting second chances after offensive rebounds.
Walker has to be better passer and this is something he should work on as well. Defensively his lateral movement in the low post is decent, however in ball screen situations most of the time he will be in drop position since he is not capable of showing hard on ball screens.

Sono giudizi dati per il livello del college Daye: qui il livello è molto più alto e lui è moscio, in piena fase di ambientamento e anche un pochino mal servito da un playmaker che pensa innanzitutto a fare canestro. Oggi per la prima volta ha finalmente fatto vedere qualcosa a rimbalzo. Sicuramente può migliorare e con i rookies è così, soprattutto per i pivot che maturano più tardi, ma bisogna anche dire che i movimenti in post basso li aveva visti solo Costa quest'estate. Anche se potrebbe essere un minimo anche mancanza di fiducia in se stesso: ti senti in difficoltà e non provi a fare le cose più difficili che magari sai fare. Un problema è che questa mancanza di fiducia ce l'hanno anche i compagni: io lo vedo spesso chiedere la palla in post (fateci caso quando vedete le partite), ma Christon non gliela dà MAI e attacca lui dal palleggio.

cmq è vero lo avevo già notato a Reggio, Walker posizionato bene, in vantaggio sul difensore, chiede palla e Christon non la passa...ed eravamo nei primi quarti, quando è il momento di coinvolgere tutti, non nel finale dove magari vai più sul sicuro....dal "gotoguy" che peraltro qs anno non abbiamo nemmeno....almeno l'anno scorso ce en erano più di uno.

E' così, ma questo è il segno di squadra mal allenata: se Walker ha un vantaggio Christon deve passare, soprattutto se non siamo in un finale decisivo. Se non lo fa, urlo in faccia e panca. Se invece non si vuole dare la palla in post basso (come l'anno scorso Dell'Agnello non voleva che Judge tirasse da 5 metri), Walker non deve nemmeno chiamare la palla, ma deve uscire e fare un blocco. Così c'è SICURO qualcosa che non va.

Per me è peggio Shelton, ma dove tagli tagli bene...

spero che in società non stiano perdendo tempo a ragionare su chi tagliare......ma stiano già pensando a chi tesserare.

Finalmente pare abbia trovato una squadra: va a Cipro, che è un po' il suo livello, e noi risparmiamo qualche mese di ingaggio, che è cosa ottima. Oggi ha salutato la squadra.
